Eliminating Constraints to Operational Excellence

Organizations too often ignore the structural limitations and other systemic challenges of their IT infrastructure. While these constraints themselves may not be immediately visible to the business, there impact in terms of higher operating costs, missed service levels and constraints on organizational agility are widely felt. In many cases, a sub-standard infrastructure can also have a negative impact on IT morale and retention.

Not surprisingly, we take these issues seriously and have established dedicated resources for helping clients optimize their IT infrastructure. We take a strategic, top-down perspective to distinguish between ‘nice to haves’ and those concerns that directly impact organizational performance as we create the business case to justify these needed improvements. We follow-up with the technical expertise required to implement the proposed changes using best-in-class resources.

• Application Rationalization – We develop and implement strategies and roadmaps for consolidating redundant applications and retiring obsolete ones to reduce maintenance and other sustainment costs. Even running multiple versions of the same software introduces inconsistencies and complexity that increase risk and costs. Each assessment is lead by senior professionals with extensive IT management experience. They provide and implement detailed recommendations for improving performance. In many cases, the improvements in performance and efficiency can eliminate the need for additional hardware and network capacity.
• Business Continuity – While most consultants recognize the importance of business continuity, few can provide programmatic guidance for realizing operational assurance. We employ a step-by-step process for identifying and mitigating infrastructure risks and can help our clients migrate systems and data to alternative and mirrored sites. We also help enterprises define processes for responding to specific threats and document their compliance with disaster recovery provisions.
